In Focus
04/08/17 - 08/10/17

See hidden gems from the Scottish Fisheries Museum’s photography collection in our temporary exhibition, In Focus.
Carefully selected from over 2000 photographs, the images on display have been chosen for their aesthetic appeal, historical significance, and their resonance with staff and volunteers working on the recent digitisation project.
In Focus celebrates the near culmination of Moving Images 2, a digitisation project funded by a Recognition grant. With over fourteen thousand negatives – many of which have remained unseen for some time, the focus of the digitisation project is digitise, research, and widen access to the museum’s photography collection. The project is ongoing until December 2017.
The exhibition is also accompanied by an events programme for children and adults. This includes an Anstruther Photowalk with photographer, Kristy Ashton; bookbinding workshops with illustrator, Sofia Sita; an in-gallery talk with Kevin Dunion from the Anstruther and Kilrenny Burgh Collection; and a crafts workshop for children.
