Superstition and Witchcraft in Scottish Fishing Communities

Scottish fishing communities are famous for their superstitious nature as part of the life and flow of the community. Many old customs and traditions survive to this day.

In our Merchant’s Room, our Curatorial Apprentice David Leybourne has created a small display exploring some of these longstanding practices and beliefs.

27 October - 19 December 2021

Admission free for our tearoom customers during opening hours.

Which would you never find aboard a boat - a rabbit or a horse? Come along and find out!
