Merchant's Room : Margaret Maclean
1 - 30 July 2022
With the Scottish School holidays underway we’re looking forward to welcoming even more visitors back to the museum and Waves Cafe over the next couple of months.
We’re delighted to also welcome back Hebridean artist Margaret MacLean to our Merchant’s Room with her beautiful paintings of coastal scenes rendered on individual pieces of driftwood collected from the shore – each one is unique.
Margaret says, “I do all sorts of subjects but I do love doing artwork that shows the beauty of the island where I live, the Isle of Lewis is the largest island of the Western Isles or Outer Hebrides archipelago in Scotland.”
After her last visit to exhibit her work in Anstruther in 2019, Margaret was inspired to capture scenes from our own beautiful corner of the world – the East Neuk of Fife- for this new display.
