Scottish Fisheries Museum - telling the history of fishing in Scotland through the years.

Teachers' Centre

A big hallo to all schools and pupils!
Inspired and active learning is important to us here at the Scottish Fisheries Museum. Fishing, the marine environment and the cultural history of the East Neuk are significant and captivating topics to learn about.

The fishing industry, its associated crafts, people, environment, culture and towns are not only an important part of Scotland’s history but also of its present and future, making them relevant topics for both primary and secondary schools in supporting the cross-curricular approach of the new Curriculum for Excellence.

Topics can connect history with politics, science with art, the built environment with drama and creative writing to create a contemporary and inspiring learning resource.

Please contact the Learning and Access Officer to discuss your visit and to help tailor your visit to the specific age, ability and curricular needs of your pupils.
