Launch of new book on Reaper

08 June 2016 Launch of new book on Reaper
An afternoon tea party was held on Sunday to mark the publication of a new guidebook to the museum’s flagship.
Guests of honour Lord and Lady Campbell of Pittenweem met with other invited guests in the Museum’s Boatyard where the book’s author Rodger McAslan and designer Alaistair Ramsay were pleased to show the finished volume.
The day also marked the end of the major refit of the White Wing which had, until the previous Friday, occupied the Boatyard for many months. Boat-building Co-ordinator Leonardo Bortolami created a display showing the work completed by Boats Club volunteers and trainees. All of the guests were able to see the White Wing out on the pier where further final preparations will be made for a formal relaunch later in the summer.
Copies of “Reaper FR958 - Fifie Lugsail Herring Drifter” are now on sale in the Museum shop and on board the Reaper.
The photograph shows (L to R): Councillor Elizabeth Riches, Lady Elspeth and Lord Menzies Campbell of Pittenweem, Rodger McAslan, Jordan Westwater (trainee), Leonardo Bortolami, Joan Paton (SFM Boats Club Chair), Dr Robert Prescott (SFM Vice President) and Willie Rennie MSP.
