Knitting the Herring

The Scottish Fisheries Museum has secured funding through Fife LEADER for an exciting project to develop the role of the Museum in instigating work towards the creation of a National Gansey Network, with the Museum leading on developing a National Gansey Collection.
The Museum is looking to recruit someone to co-ordinate this year-long project, working with communities around Scotland and beyond, and in association with experts and designers such as Di Gilpin to research, compile and celebrate fishermen’s knitwear.
If you have knowledge of traditional knitwear, experience of project management and are interested in working with us, please see the Project Co-ordinator Role Description for full details.
