Volunteers make a massive contribution to the life and work of the museum - we simply could not operate without them.

Volunteers work in all areas of the museum, from welcoming visitors and giving guided tours to researching and caring for collections, serving as trustees, maintaining and crewing our sea-going boats and much, much more.

If you would like to volunteer at the museum, whether to meet new people, use your skills or perhaps learn new ones, please get in touch. You can contact us via our contact form, phone or email. We will then invite you to the Museum to discuss ways in which you can help. Please tell us about your interests and experience on the application form. If you need help completing the form please contact us as we are happy to help.

From time to time we need to find volunteers with specific skills to fill a particular role. We will post details here, so please check this page for details.

We’re recruiting!
