Scotland’s Fishing Industry: WW2 (S1-3)

What impact did the Second World War have on Scotland’s fishing industry and its communities?

Students will uncover the realities of life on the Home Front during the conflict through the lens of the the East Neuk villages and the bombing of Cellardyke and Kilrenny. They will examine written sources, museum objects and testimony from the period, to formulate a deeper appreciation of the impact of the conflict on the fishing community.
